Don’t Be Afraid To Fail
Failure is something that you have to endure whilst at A-Levels and in life. If you’re getting everything right, then you’re either not working hard enough by trying out the more difficult questions or you’re a robot. I faced failure countless times during my A-Level studies and I can honestly say that it is because of these failures that I succeeded in the end when opening my exam results and realising that I got accepted into the University of Birmingham. To fail is a good thing because it can allow you to understand where you went wrong and if you understand that, then you will be more familiar with the question so if that question came up in the exam, you would be able to do it. If you’re one of those people who likes attempting questions that you know you’re going to get right, then get out of that mentality now. You need to attempt the harder questions in order to succeed at A-Levels. Don’t limit your challenges but rather challenge your limits. See how far you can go. By having this mindset, you will do well in any subject you do at A-Levels.
This post goes way past the bounds of the classroom but also is a lesson for life. If you fail in your attempt at getting a job, don’t just give up. Pick yourself up and apply to another one. If you fail in anything in life, just know that something good is waiting just around the corner. Everyone who you idolize has failed at one point in their life. Take for instance, Walt Disney. This is the man behind all the Disney movies you know and love. His former newspaper editor told him that he “lacked imagination and had no good ideas”. Imagine if he had stopped at the first sign of failure. Albert Einstein couldn’t speak until he was four years old and couldn’t read until he was seven. This man was a failure throughout his childhood but he never gave up. He went on to win a Nobel Prize and is deemed to be the most intelligent person to ever walk this planet!
When failure hits you, you have to be able to take it on the chin and push forward. Be persistent and keep driving to become successful. Know that failure comes hand in hand with success. You will fail so many times but remember that you only need to succeed ONCE!
