Being organised is an imperative and needed trait to have if you wish to do well in your studies. This will allow you to balance your homework, exams, subjects etc in a way that you will not feel stressed and in a state of panic.
The main thing I would suggest is to have a to-do list to prepare for the day or the week or any period of time you’re looking to be organised in. In the good old days, you would have to write this on a piece of paper and regularly check this to keep on top of things. Now, however, we have all these apps to help remind us of what we need to do and when it needs to be done by. So I would highly suggest downloading one of these apps and inputting in what you need to do and when you need to do it. Set reminders before the deadline so that it is impossible to fall behind. Having a to-do list will bring order to your life and will massively reduce the stress of deadlines and exams etc because you will have in there everything you need to do to prepare.
Keep your work organised to maximise efficiency. Have folders for each subject so that you don’t waste time trying to find your homework for a particular subject. Have dividers in your folders to separate each topic so that when it comes to revising a particular topic, you can pull out all the revision material you need in one section of your folder instead of panicking and losing your mind.
Write effective notes of everything you learn so that you don’t need to ask other people for notes. Keep your notes concise so that when you go back to it, you can understand it immediately. Summarise large portions of information to make your notepad easy to read and understand. The last thing you want is to look at your notes, not understand what is going on and then have to re-learn the topic again. This is time unnecessarily wasted!
Being organised in your workload is very important. Don’t let work pile up to the point that you can’t handle it anymore. It will make you more stressed and not focused. If you know you have three pieces of homework due for next week, do them immediately because you may get more sets of homework and then this will all cumulatively pile up to the point where at least one homework won’t be handed in on time.
Make it a priority to meet all deadlines and stay organised in your life. This will help you mentally as you will not be stressed out trying to catch up on things you should have already done.
