Intelligence Isn’t A Fixed Trait
When it comes to exams and your education, you should never believe that intelligence is fixed and that only some people can succeed. This is not the case!
Intelligence does play some part in your success throughout your educational lives, I will admit that. But there are two domineering factors which studies have proven to be the root of all success. These two factors are grit and hard work. Grit means to persevere even when the going gets tough. This trait alone will propel you into success during your education as it will enable you to never give up, no matter how steep the climb may be. If you treat each event as they come, you will be on your way to developing this trait. This is because most people tend to break down by a cumulative work load which brings a huge amount of stress and tension upon them. But if you take every obstacle as it comes, you will prepare for it and this will dramatically reduce the chances of you giving up or falling behind.
Now, moving on to hard work. This is something which you must acquire in order to be successful in any aspect of life. Hard work gives you that sense of achievement. Becoming a better version of yourself than you were yesterday. It is imperative that you develop this trait to do well in education because it is hard work that will put a smile on your face on results day. It is hard work that will dumb down difficult topics and hard subjects. This trait will allow you to conquer any assignment or task that may come your way.
If you are one of those individuals who is very intelligent, don’t fall into the trap of becoming complacent! This is very easy to do because you think that you have everything under control but then you get faced with a task that you can’t do so you decide to take shortcuts to complete the task given. Then you get another difficult task and you do the same thing. Next thing you know, you see everyone else doing better than you because they’re working harder than you to understand the content rather than just finding shortcuts. Develop the two traits above and you will conquer your exams in the summer.
Intelligence is not a fixed trait and it can be developed by changing your mindset. Work so hard that you become intelligent. This will allow you to become confident when preparing exams and you will be more relaxed during the exams as you will know that you’ve put in the work.
