To give you background info, career fairs are normally held by universities to give them an insight into different companies and will put on display internships and placements here also. These companies will be on campus and will be there to answer any questions you may have.

You should book the date/s for when the career fair comes to your university. These are very important dates as you may find your future employer just waiting for you there. Even if you do not end up applying to any of these, you will gain lots of information by just conversing with the employers. They will tell you all about their company and how they applied and all the ins and outs you need to know to put yourself in the best position possible.

This is also the opportunity to sell yourself also. Talk to the employers and tell them about the kind of person you are. Tell them about how you would be in a work environment and see if the employer you are talking to is best suited for your style of learning.

Opportunities will present themselves at career fairs and fairly early, if I do say so myself! Employers will turn up to the careers fair before any opportunities are even open and so this puts you in the best position because they will tell you when applications are open. This means that you will be the first of those to apply and you will be first seen by the employers. Did I mention you also get freebies? Loads of them! You can get stationery, notepads and if you’re really lucky; a portable USB charger.

You need to put yourself in the best position for life after university and career fairs will definitely put you on your way there. It will enable you to have a more clear focus on what you want in life!
