How Team Bonding Affects Performance
When your team chemistry is off the charts, then you will obtain amazing results and the environment will ultimately be a positive one. Having a good bond between the team improves the cohesion and consequently, the team will perform to a much higher level than if the team never bonded at all.
Now, if the team has no chemistry and everyone works by themselves, then less work will be done and there will be many occasions where someone is stuck but they can’t do anything about it because they don’t feel like they can go to their team for help.
You should always endeavour to work as a team and build a rapport with the team so that when you have to knuckle down and work, you all work together and help each other out and when it is time to wind down and relax, you all have a laugh.
I am very lucky to be part of a team where I can talk to everyone about anything at all. We talk about the cricket scores, our childhood amongst many other things. We all have a great laugh and this translates into the work environment. Whenever I do my work and get stuck, I know I can always ask around and the team will always be there to help me out.
The new members of our team are welcomed with open arms and I now take the role of helping them out and ensuring that they fit the team and that the work environment remains positive.
Team bonding is a skill and you need to be able to have a great mindset in order to fit into a team. Respect everybody and always take interest in other people’s lives. By doing this, the work environment will be healthy and your workload will not cause you stress because you know you can ask for help if you ever need to.
