Don’t Burn Yourself Out!

Don't Burn Yourself Out Picture
It is very good to put in the work but do not sacrifice your mental health and your energy in order to produce results

I have written many posts on working as hard as you can and how you should go out of your way to be better than everybody else and to stand out. All of this can be very tiring and can take a toll on the energy you have.

If you ever feel like you are exhausted all the time and you have zero motivation to do anything, then this should be a sign that you need to slow down and replenish your energy levels. If you feel like you are putting in all the effort in the world but you are not going anywhere, then one reason which can be attributed to this is the fact that you are burning out. So although you are giving 100% of your energy at that particular time, you are not giving 100% of your potential.Β

When you are burned out, you will look to short term solutions and you will have trouble looking at long term solutions. This is very bad because your attention will focus and will be distracted by little things in the present rather than you focusing on your goals for the future which is what is required in order to become successful.

Work is very important and working on your craft and fulfilling your potential is something that everybody dreams about. With that being said, you should not sacrifice your mental and/or physical health. Do not skip meals just to finish a bit of homework. There are far more important things in life to look after and finishing off a piece of homework is very low on that list.

Always put yourself first and ensure that you put yourself in the best position to succeed. This will not be achieved if you are not reaching your full potential.

  1. Great post! I couldn’t agree more. We don’t have to do it all. Do what we can to the best of our ability. I recently decided to go through all the blogs that I follow, and unfollow those that I never read. My news feed was too cluttered, and it was confusing the life out of me as to which blogs to turn my attention towards. I can’t read them all. Now my feed is more focused and I feel a lot better. 😊 I can actually find my favorite bloggers. Hey, look at that, you made the cut! πŸ˜€

    • Yeah, absolutely. I also need to do that as well but I hardly have any time at the moment, tomorrow is the weekend so will focus on that as well.

YESS!! GLAD I MADE THE CUT HAHA 😏😎

    • It’s good that you have because you now know how it feels like. I’ve also burned out before so I know how to be efficient with my energy

      • It’s not just about “efficiency” in what you produce. You also have to recognize the value in your own life, and give it meaning. And we all have things to contribute to others that aren’t so easily quantified… love and compassion, for instance. Children already know that. We just work it out of ourselves as we get older.

        Good wishes to you!
