Don’t Burn Yourself Out!
I have written many posts on working as hard as you can and how you should go out of your way to be better than everybody else and to stand out. All of this can be very tiring and can take a toll on the energy you have.
If you ever feel like you are exhausted all the time and you have zero motivation to do anything, then this should be a sign that you need to slow down and replenish your energy levels. If you feel like you are putting in all the effort in the world but you are not going anywhere, then one reason which can be attributed to this is the fact that you are burning out. So although you are giving 100% of your energy at that particular time, you are not giving 100% of your potential.
When you are burned out, you will look to short term solutions and you will have trouble looking at long term solutions. This is very bad because your attention will focus and will be distracted by little things in the present rather than you focusing on your goals for the future which is what is required in order to become successful.
Work is very important and working on your craft and fulfilling your potential is something that everybody dreams about. With that being said, you should not sacrifice your mental and/or physical health. Do not skip meals just to finish a bit of homework. There are far more important things in life to look after and finishing off a piece of homework is very low on that list.
Always put yourself first and ensure that you put yourself in the best position to succeed. This will not be achieved if you are not reaching your full potential.
