Never Say Later

Never Say Later Picture
Why do something later when you can do it now?

“I’ll do it later” is such a common phrase in this day and age. Chances are you will not get it done for a very long time. It may seem like a little thing and not so serious however the mentality alone can be quite damaging. This ‘later’ mentality will be the reason why you lose passion easily. It will also be the reason why you miss deadlines. Whenever you have something to do, make time for it and do it right away otherwise all you’re going to be doing is catching up.

The question you have to ask yourself is “What am I doing now which is stopping me from doing my homework?” It doesn’t have to be your homework but you get the gist. If the thing you’re doing now takes priority over your work, then that is fine. Just make a note as to when you will complete the work. However, if you are just catching up on a series or watching a funny video, then surely that can wait and your work should take priority over this.

Life is all about priorities. A lot of people say they want to be successful but they do not want to put in the time and effort required to reach the top. Procrastination has no part in success so you need to limit this as much as you can. I do get it because I procrastinate from time to time. It is very easy to do. However, when there is something important I need to do, I always do it right away so that I can get it out of the way and carry on doing what I enjoy.

Comment below if you are a procrastinator! If you are, let me know how much you procrastinate and when you procrastinate. If you are NOT a procrastinator, then let me know in the comments below your techniques to avoid procrastination. I look forward to hearing your responses.

  1. I was going to comment on your post later, but decided to do it now 😊 I find that if I assume something will take a lot of effort and time,I put it off the most. However I’ve been trying to break those projects down to at least 5 steps so I can work at one small part at time and feel satisfaction of competing something on my list. That has also encouraged me to keep going.

  3. When I have a few odious tasks to do later, I write them down and specify the “when” later. The time comes: if I am still to do the task later, I rewrite the “when” for another later. The tasks never become more pleasant. It is such a hard lesson to learn.

    • I have the same bad habit. I have an app on my phone where I track tasks but I always push them back. Hopefully we can both get on the right track. I shall write my next post tomorrow so stay tuned 🙂

  4. I think a better way of looking at this idea would be to think of it as prioritizing. Important tasks should not be put off but less important ones sometimes can.

  5. It’s soo me..always assuming that I can complete task later..and doing it just to complete it in a given time instead of putting some heart in it. I am trying to stop it. I hope I will soon..🤗
