Age Is Just A Number

If someone uses age against you, prove to them why age does not matter!
If someone uses age against you, prove to them why age does not matter!

Your age does not define your maturity nor does it define your work ethic. People always say that the youth have more energy than people who are older. This is not always the case and you should never let your age affect your work. Always stay in tip top shape so that your age never stops you from doing what you want to do.

Universities is a great example of the fact that age is just a number. On your course, you will most likely see people around the age of 18-23. However, you will probably notice a few people who are not in this age bracket. You may have a person who is 50+ years old studying on the same course you are. This does not mean they are behind in life or you’re doing better than them. They may just want to take part in a course which they love. Always strive to make them feel comfortable because chances are that they may feel awkward being the oldest amongst so many young people.

Jobs are also a place where you will see a broad range of ages. Again, do not judge and do not think that you are better or worse off than your colleague. Instead, create a positive environment and just get to know your work colleagues. This will make work enjoyable! Your mentality and your mindset towards people of different ages speaks a lot of volumes. Do you immediately judge when you see someone who is older or younger than you?

Ensure that you are taking care of everyone you come in contact with, no matter what their age is. A simple hello or a smile goes a long way!

  1. Nice message Kamran. I agree age is indeed just a number and we must include everyone at workplaces/universities, no matter what their age/race etc are.

    • Absolutely love that! I wish him the best and hope he finds it to be a passion of his. I shall be writing my next blog post tomorrow so stay tuned 🙂

  2. When I was in college there was this older student. I remember one guy cracked a joke about her age and people around him laughed. However she remained focused and graduated while the guy who made fun of her dropped out.

    • This story proves my point exactly. Age should not be a topic of discussion at all, especially in college and university because we do not know the motivation for any one individual in education. I shall be writing my next blog post tomorrow so stay tuned 🙂

    • Oh yeah absolutely, I could not agree more! Thank you for sharing your opinion, it is very much valued. I shall be writing my next blog post tomorrow so stay tuned 🙂
