What Is Success?

How do you define success?
How do you define success?

Success is a concept which can be measurable in many ways depending on the person’s mentality and their mindset towards life.

Some look at the word success and they instantly think of fame. If you are famous, you are successful because you have millions of people watching what you do and every single of those viewers wish they were in your shoes. With fame comes many other things like money which leads me nicely onto my next point.

There are many people in this world who believe that you are successful once you have acquired a certain amount of money. Success is when you are living lavishly and you can afford to buy what you want when you want. You have no debts to pay and you earn so much that you forget when payday arrives.

I personally believe that success is when you can live comfortably and you are following a passion of yours. You have found yourself to be in a state of zen and you have a routine where you can fulfill your potential.

How do you define success? Please let me know in the comments below as I do find this fascinating.

  1. I enjoyed your article,it’s really cool. I think success is universal ,I can’t be successful with people around me with failures.I am earning a decent salary yet if my dear ones are less fortunate than it’s very difficult to be successful.Say for instance you suggest me to get rid of such people and go and live in some other place then my conscience will not allow me to sleep in peace. No one is successful in this world because everyone is living in fear.Even the top Boss in this world is really very scared of wars so he is always showing his muscle powers by waging constant small scale wars with others .Would you like to call him a successful person.?Thanks for sharing the lovely post.πŸ˜€

      • Should we compare with others to define success? Much as I don’t think that should be the way, as we are social beings, it will be very hard not to compare.

So what is success? Not when we feel we are better off than others. I see success when I am able to achieve what may be impossible or unthinkable before, when I can create a positive impact in the lives of others. I see success when I know I have overcome my own shortcomings. That is success.

      • I completely agree with this. Success should never be dependent on others, it should be within yourself. Never compare to other poeple.

  2. Hmm, I guess I let God measure my success. Am I living as I should? If I am loving others as I love myself than, yep, I’m on the track to success. Everything else doesn’t matter. Nobody gets to define whether or not I am successful, and nobody else can make me successful. It’s up to me to keep pushing forward.

  3. There are all types of success. As a parent we may define success if our children are self sufficient, responsible and contribute positively to their community.
Types of success could include marriage, financial, health, and more.

    • I had never thought of it like that but yeah, that is very true. Thank you for sharing your thoughts with us and for taking the time to read my blog post

  4. I hope our success like our growth as a person is on-going. For example success for an emerging college student will be different from my view of success in my fifties. I view success through the lens of health, relationships, and my ability to pursue my passions – in terms of travel, financial freedom, and professional goals. It’s complicated!

  5. I agree with your definition of success. I recently came into that knowledge or realization and there’s real peace and joy in it. Great article ❀️✌🏾πŸ₯°

…from My Experience it’s Crystal Clear Clarity to Me that We Have Both a Physical Body and an Energetic Field Surrounding Our Physical Body that some call an Aura…this Aura is Generally Constantly in Flux due to Our InterActions with Others, Our Dreams and Our Emotions EveryOne; as far as I Can Tell these ARE The Auratic Colours and I Have Added My Take on them:

  7. There are victories that come from time to time and make me happy. I guess those are small successes. But, as a middle-aged woman, I’ve come to view success as living a life that’s pleasing to God. If that is happening, everything else falls into place and I am content. At least, that’s how I feel most days!! πŸ™‚ Even mid-lifers have times of fear that we’re not meeting the world’s standards.

  8. Success for me is the ability to not recognise success as you are no longer striving for it, it is a monetary thing as society as deemed this a requirement, but it is the ability to ignore money rather than the ability to count money, I believe that success for me is being able to buy the time back from the rat race of credit repayments and 9 to 5 work obligations and spend that time with my family and children without the thought of a single penny crossing my mind.
