Pressure Is Good, Stress Is Not!

Pressure can get you results whereas stress will bring you down!

You may think of both pressure and stress to be one and the same but they are not. If someone puts pressure on you to do something, it may be something which you need to do and you may have forgotten about. It also can be pressure for you to make your family proud or pressure to complete an achievement. These emotions are normal and you should use it to put yourself in the mindset of accomplishing anything you can and not being intimidated by the moment.

When you are stressed, you feel down. You cannot concentrate on completing tasks and your efficiency in doing so will dramatically decrease. Too much stress will also find you taking your issues with you to bed. Stress is never ending and if you become too stressed, it will take over your life.

There are also physical downsides to being stressed. One of the main downfalls of stress is that you find yourself getting sick more often. Your immune system is not as strong as it normally would be. Your eating and sleeping patterns will change.

Embrace pressure and stress in small portions can actually motivate you to reach goals. Do not allow stress to take over your life. Instead, embrace the stress that comes in your life and use it to meet daily tasks.

  2. There are two types of stress: stress that is beneficial and motivating (good stress) and the stress that causes anxiety and even health problems (bad stress). It’s not stress that is bad, it’s the management of stress. For instance, stress can help you meet daily challenges and motivate you to reach certain goals. In fact, stress can help you execute a task more efficiently and can help boost your memory. Stress is also a vital warning that produces the fight or flight response. When the brain perceives danger that causes stress so you can avoid harmful situations and be safe. Stress is key for our survival, but too much stress can be detrimental. Emotional stress that goes unchecked or untreated can cause health problems. Stress is an inevitable part of life, but we can improve the way we respond to stress and avoid situations that cause us physical and emotional harm.

    • Such an Insightful comment. I read every word and it makes a lot of sense. The stress I was describing in this post is the bad stress. I appreciate you taking the time to write this comment 🙏

  3. Sister BK Shivani says, in her book Happiness Unlimited, “Today, in the formula stress = pressure/ resilience, we have conveniently ignored the denominator and embraced the conditioning of stress = pressure.”

She goes on to say, “The denominator is ignored because I am not ready to take responsibility for my inner strength.” I found this meaningful.
