Being fit and active is the key to staying in good shape and keeping on top of your health!

During this global pandemic, I’m sure many of you have found yourselves locked away and staying indoors. It is a new world we are living in currently and I would like for you all to stay safe.

Now, a lot of the restrictions have been lifted so you have absolutely no excuse for being out of shape. Make sure to look after your body and to get exercise in because it has so many benefits as I will elude to in this post.

Physical Benefits

  • It helps you to manage your weight more efficiently. If you have a specific weight in which you would like to find yourself in, then exercise and partaking in sports can definitely help with that alongside having the correct diet also.
  • With physical exercise comes the benefit of having stronger bones and muscles. Exercises which can help with this specifically are walking, playing sports such as tennis and football and resistance exercises such as lifting weights.
  • By doing exercise, you massively reduce the risk of major illnesses such as heart disease and cancer.

Mental Benefits

  • Partaking in exercise, especially sports, has proven to boost self-esteem which is a very important trait to have.
  • Gives you less chance of depression and anxiety and is also known to relieve stress.
  • Your sleeping pattern will be a whole lot better meaning that you can attack each day as it comes more effectively.
  • Believe it or not, there are proven studies that exercise can help to boost brainpower. It strengthens the hippocampus (the part of the brain responsible for learning and also for memory) which reduces the chance of memory loss.

Exercise is something which I highly recommend people go away and partake in as frequently as they possibly can. It helps keep you out of trouble and you can be dealing with a lot of stress in your life, but for the time where you are doing exercise, all of that goes away so it is definitely therapeutic.

Let me know in the comments section if there are any other benefits which you have felt yourself which I have failed to mention in this post. What kind of exercises do you do? What sports do you play? I would love to know so do let me know in the comments section!

  2. I more than agree with this post. I’ve terrible GERD but have noticed that if I do even moderate but regular exercise, the GERD stays in control. Also, the days when I don’t do some form of physical activity, my mood takes a definite downswing.
