Your Habits Decide Your Future!

The daily actions you do will play a massive part in your future and will ultimately decide the life you live.
The daily actions you do will play a massive part in your future and will ultimately decide the life you live.

You may think achieving your dreams and your daily habits don’t go hand in hand. I mean, what does watching Money Heist on Netflix got to do with wanting to become successful in life, right? It turns out; quite a lot! When you want to study for a exam, you put in place daily tasks to help you feel the best prepared for that exam. With life, it’s no different. You need to be working daily towards your goals and habitually sharpening the mind, body and soul.

You’re always told to surround yourself with positive people. This is because studies have proven that mimicry is part of human nature. We pick up on other people’s mannerisms very easily and we are attuned to their way of speaking and their actions. Why would you choose to pick up the bad actions and the bad mannerisms? Well, if you’re reading this and are thinking the same thing, then apply this critical thinking to your life. What are you doing daily? In an ideal world, what would you be doing and are your daily habits taking you closer to this idealism? If not, then change needs to be implemented in the structure of your life.

As well as daily actions, your mentality on a day to day basis needs to be on point. You need to be communicating positive thoughts to yourself on whatever project you’re doing. Being alone with your thoughts shouldn’t be a negative experience but rather, it should be uplifting. Having a strong mentality will ensure that your daily habits are indeed making you the best version of yourself.

I would implore every single one of you reading this to critique your day to day actions. What are your habits? Are they positive or negative? What is the purpose of these habits?

  1. I found this statement interesting: “We pick up on other people’s mannerisms very easily and we are attuned to their way of speaking and their actions.” I’m thinking about the potential to pick up on God’s ways and be attuned to his way of speaking and his actions. That happens as we spend time with him, reading what he has to say to us in the Bible. I can’t think of a better way role model than God himself!

  2. Therapeutically, you can utilise the Looking to the Future Toolkit from whjonline.com. Try not to hyperventilate, lose hope or drag yourself into the pit of negativity. It’s a great add to understand time related perspectives.
